The CUHK Business School which is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong seeks to appoint a high caliber candidate to the position of Administrative Director or Global Engagement.

About the School:

The school since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1963, has gained world recognition of nurturing great business leaders with an immense contribution in Asia Pacific. The School also offers a wide range of comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programs which include MBA, MSC, MPhil among others with over 4, 600 students in addition to the students in the executive education.

It thrives well in a long and rich history in Hong Kong and mainland China and ensures it produces and promotes researches that are both academically excellent and applicable in the real world. The school also aims to further the enhancement of its global reach and platform for faculty to produce high-quality research as well as disseminating knowledge to stakeholders. The school also allows the students to relate and interact with the business community to discover best market practices as well as providing them with a global platform for them to increase their knowledge and ensures their reception of high quality education as well as establishing a closer strategic connection with external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

- Working with academic units and programs within the Business School with the aim of developing and executing the internalization of the school’s vision and strategy.
- Cultivating beneficial relationships with external stakeholders.
- Building a platform for communicating with external stakeholders on the plan of the school.
- Liaising with supporters to maintain an ongoing collaborative relationship.
- Representing the school in external organizations and international conferences or forums.

Qualifications and Skills:

- A master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years’ post-degree work experience in the education sector (candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Functional Manager)
- Strong network and relationship builder, and ability to work with academics and professional community;
- A strategic thinker, self-initiatives through objective and target objective setting.
- Ability to lead the implementation of detailed plans as the case may be.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to lead and groom a team for the delivery of results.
- A good team player among faculty administrators
- Knowledge of higher education as well as a worldwide business school practice is a plus.

Terms of the contract:

- The appointment is contractual with a term of two years at the initial.
- Commencement of the contract is as soon as possible.
- Renewal of the contract is subject to mutual agreement.
- Review of applications will begin on 13 March 2017 till the position is filled.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further discussion; campus visit or interview as the case may be.
