We seek an experienced Category Manager to support the operating company by maximising its benefits that would be associated with the strategic sourcing of a portfolio of commodities focusing on mechanical, electrical, and material repairs and Operational Materials

Main responsibilities:

- Demonstrating commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in every wok environment
- Leading and directing the design and implementation of category strategies that are relevant to the support of the Global and Regional Procurement Organization
- Defining benefit targets, and ensuring that the targets and the Key Performance Indicators are achieved on a set portfolio of spend categories
- Achieving targets for specific sourcing activities such as spend coverage, compliance rates and benefits generation, track implementation, compliance and benefits against targets of the selected categories
- Identifying potential cost savings, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardisation opportunities in the assigned categories
- Leading the cross functional teams through the activities of supplier selection and recommendation including qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, RFI and RFP development and analysis
- Providing expertise on the subject matter while working with stakeholders and legal in negotiation of vendor contracts
- Driving, developing and executing negotiation strategies with suppliers while managing the performance of the supplier on a structural basis
- Acting as the lead negotiator in execution of complex contracts with large cross functional teams that optimise benefits to the operating company, while implementing contracts in the business units
- Developing and maintaining relationships with the key suppliers, third party sourcing partners, and the internal stakeholders such as the directors, VP, and other executives, to enable faster achievement of the business objectives
- Representing the U.S as a member of the regional or global category teams to establish strategies and initiatives

Specific Responsibilities:

- Participating in global and regional activities, and communicating those initiatives to the local teams and ensuring compliance
- Managing all the maintenance requirements and maintenance planning directly
- Leading the interface for all activity related to contract to ensure that legal and other policies are complied with

Requirements:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, or engineering. A Master’s Degree is a plus
- A minimum of 5 to years’ working experience
- A travel requirement of 45%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, Google Mail and Drive
- A basic knowledge of SAP or any equivalent field
- Expertise in domestic and international strategic sourcing, and problem solving skills
- Focus on costs and results
- Ability to lead and drive a cross functional team
- Ability to build relationships and command respect
- Ability to collaborate with experts on subject matter across diverse disciplines in problem solving
- Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels and with all functions
- A satisfactory balance between empathy and assertiveness when dealing with customers and suppliers
- A strong analytical skill and execution skill, and understanding of the key cost drivers within the supply chain
- An excellent category of knowledge in markets, usage, TCO, etc.
- Ability to negotiate and develop and manage complex agreements
- An excellent knowledge of domestic and international contract structures, basic legal terms, and legal drafting
- A sound knowledge of domestic and international financial concepts, budget management, and cost reduction initiatives
- An excellent knowledge of internal controls that provide reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, and include actions that prevent and detect frauds and protect the resources of the company
- A strong technical aptitude in maintenance or production, including the general manufacturing equipment components cement and ACM
- Ability to lead, manage projects, and simultaneously handle multiple projects
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, ambiguous, and newly forming organisation
- English as a language
