Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) seeks a Director of Human Capital and Development to report to the General Manager and provide leadership to the team of Human Capital and Development while assuring a consistently high operation or associate service standard within the team. The qualified candidate for the job would be responsible for the crafting and execute of Human Capital and development plans and strategies for recruiting, selecting, retaining, and developing of associates of the Hotel to meet business needs. The candidate is expected to implement the Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) initiated policies and procedures which would support the achievement of the hospitality experience, business practices, and local culture within the group the supports all associates growth and development. The candidate would also promote the values of human resources by planning, managing, and direct human resource programs relevant in the hotel

Main responsibilities:

- Crafting HR strategies or programs, and implementing and facilitating programs just as it is delivered from the corporate strategic plan so that they are relevant to the environment of the property and the mission and values of the organization
- Growing the culture of the company such as the Vision, Purpose, and Values to radiate the internal atmosphere of the work, sense of place and belonging to the associates within the property
- Advising on the initiatives related to human capital for the property, including associates relations, practices and policies of personnel, administration of compensation and benefits, performance management, labor relations and organizational development to the property’s Executive Committee
- Preparing the requirements of workforce, and establishing the timeline of recruitment
- Managing and participating in the efforts of recruitment to acquire the most suitable and qualified personnel by recommending the most cost-effective recruitment channels
- Identifying the needs of training, and leading the development and implementation of the general associate training, orientation, functional or professional training, programs of management development and inter-company learning and development programs
- Ensuring the planning of the training activities so as to meet the current and future needs of the hotel and the associates
- Developing and preparing the training plan annually, and monitoring it accordingly
- Implementing and administering market and industry competitive salaries and benefits plans, and ensuring consistency in the company’s policy and internal equity maintenance
- Participating in salary and benefits surveys, and keeping market trends abreast under the direction of the Corporate Human Capital and Development.
- Making relevant recommendations concerning trends and analysis to the hotel management, related to increasing in salary, compensation of staff and benefits
- Managing and coordinating review of salary and bonus payments annually in accordance with the Corporate Human Capital and Development guidelines
- Overseeing all the benefits of staff and insurance policies to ensure the labor regulations and company policies are complied with
- Supervising and administering the payroll of staff, and maintaining a payroll system that is accurate
- Driving activities to promote team building and engagement among the associates
- Facilitating half-year exercises of Performance reviewing for all the associates in the property that are inclusive of process schedule, review interviews and follow up
- Developing and implementing the human resources policies and standards of procedures that are relevant, including the employee handbook; ensuring they are updated accordingly, and effectively communicating to all associates for proper implementation and understanding

Requirements:

- A Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
- A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a similar role in international hotel brands
- A strong experience of hotel pre-opening and similar set ups
- A technologically and business savvy
- Experience managing the full spectrum of the activities of progressive human resources, including strategy, policy design, and implementation
- knowledge of local Employment Laws and Industrial Relations
- A flexible individual, with strong interpersonal and communication skills in both writing and presentation in Mandarin and English
- A strong work ethic and confidentiality
- A good understand the internal and external labor market, labor relations, best practices and legislations, and its impact on the business and workforce
- Ability to solve problems independently and with a strategic mindset, and in managing organization risks when executing decisions related to HR, programs, and key initiatives
