Main responsibilities:

- Providing appropriate health and safety leadership as well as ensuring the visibility of the “Safety First and Foremost” message throughout all activities.
- Offering guidance to employees at all levels in the execution of both safety and health policies in their duties as well as providing support and guidance on any health and safety matters causing concern.

- Exercising the necessary authority needed to halt activities that might pose potential health or safety risks or a breach in the legislature when occurred.
- Supporting divisional projects through planned and unplanned workplace inspections and this might include office locations inspection to ensure the compliance with the company’s safety and health policies as well as recommending improvements timely.
- Liaising closely with the Project Managers and subcontractors when applicable to ensure the maintenance of the highest standards of workplace safety and health.
- Monitoring and reviewing any accident, “near miss” or incident reports ensuring the completion investigation, experience and the undertaking of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Providing full time support and guidance with external or accreditation schemes like Achilles.
- Supporting the production of regular and accurate Health and Safety performance reports as well as assisting in the preparation and issue of alerts and communication to the business.
- Winning teams to ensure bids and tenders through early engagement and this can include provision of relevant up to date health and safety information

Requirement:

- A good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation with an understanding of “Best Practice.”

- Demonstrated report writing ability coupled with IT skills.
- Communication skills as well as ability to deliver presentation orally or in written form.
- Previous experience in Engineering or Construction Sector and with project teams is preferable.
- An NEBOSH general or NEBOSH construction certificate and the Tech.IOSH membership grade is required.
