About the job:

We are looking for an experienced and qualified person for the position of a Financial Accountant to take ownership of ERA’s financial reporting and audit process. It is an opportunity for such individual to join our dedicated finance team based in Darwin.

Main responsibilities:

- Providing quality financial support in the team environment to both internal and external stakeholders,
- Working on five days on, two days off roster
- Reporting to the Specialist Finance
- Facilitating and executing end process as part of the financial accounting team
- Preparing management report for the ERA Board as well as Rio Tinto Controllers
- Preparing ad hoc analysis for senior management
- Engaging with external auditors, Government Departments as well and Rio Tinto and internal stakeholders;
- Supporting the team leader with the development of the annual planning process as well as engage with departments during budget preparation

Requirements:

- A tertiary Business or Commerce Degree.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Strong analytical abilities to analyze problems and provide solutions to them.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence others

Relevant Skills and Experience:

- Relevant experience within the mining or heavy engineering industry
- Experience in external auditing
- An understanding of inventory costing methods and knowledge of SAP
