Description
We seek the service of an individual that will serve as the Lead Hardware Asset Analyst who will be responsible to the Manager by reporting information as well as doing the assigned duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- The right applicant will report to the Manager, Information Service Assets with interaction with IS and CIO by:
• Maintaining processes for managing and tracking IT hardware assets, software as well as ensuring their maintenance life cycle from procurement to retirement.
• Updating policies and procedures for effective asset lifecycle management which include acquisition, deployment, utilization, installation, reallocation, decommission and disposal of IT assets.
• Ensuring the proper approval of the asset methods and processes as well as communicating to appropriate teams before being implemented.
• Using reports to ensure adherence to ITAM standards, processes and procedures.
• Gathering and reporting on process metrics as well as ensuring data accuracy of assets and their attributes including statuses and locations in ITAM Tool as well as in CMDB.
• Resolving compliance exceptions in the environment.
• Being responsible for ensuring corrective actions are taken to address any non-compliance in the process.
• Identifying deficiencies in processes and procedures, and action plans to address.
• Being accountable to ensure all individuals who work in the process of asset management, IT, mailroom, procurement are trained to enable them to perform their function effectively.
• Performing proper research for the purpose of understanding asset management issues as well as providing proper guidance to support team.
• Supporting ITAM tool and CMDB implementation as well as any automation or integration about the IT asset management processes.
- The right applicant will be responsible for analysis, design, and implementation by:
• Assisting with the development of IT asset management policies, processes, and procedures for inventorying, tracking assets and reporting on information technology related assets.
• Making design recommendations based on analysis results as well as developing use cases, process, procedure and training materials.
• Leading testing and implementation efforts related to the deployment of asset management processes which include the development of testing traceability matrix.
• Delivering training as needed as well as ensuring that all ongoing changes are documented and communicated globally and consistently.
- Ensuring Asset Data Gathering, Reporting & Audits by ensuring that:
• All hardware and asset life cycle related costs and risks are correctly identified, as well as gathering metrics and publishing status reports.
• Mitigation and remediation activity is enforced.
• All critical IT assets and record findings are monitored and the inventories performed.
• The development strategies and external relationships are assisted to implement plans for auctioning, recycling and sales of obsolete assets.
• Expectation and accuracy in the Service are investigated and resolved to bring about a very good asset repository.
• Opportunities are explored for maximizing, exploiting unused or partial used IT asset to achieve full efficiency ROI from company resources.
• Compliance investigations are executed, and the license terms and conditions are reviewed as appropriate for the purpose of achieving objectives.
• Software asset reconciliation and audit activities are conducted and reported on a timely basis which will include financial licensing, warranty, maintenance and support contract information.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent experience is preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- At least five years of experience in an IT role which will include a minimum of three years of experience with IT Hardware Asset Management.
- Proven conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences
- A strong knowledge of asset management processes and procedures as well as strong understanding of network and desktop hardware
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively to achieve results within established timeframes with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments supporting business which include usual, user requests, and special projects
- Ability to effectively communicate and display a professional, mature attitude in dealing with internal customers, management and personnel across the organization
- Working knowledge of Interface of ITAM processes with CMDB
- Experienced working with ITAM/ITSM Tools like ServiceNow
