The role will have a focus on interfacing development with the business, especially interviewing product sponsors and owners, documenting their requirements both on high and low levels. Identifying gaps in the requirements, gaining clarifications, investigating the acceptance criterion on a product and feature level.
The Product Analyst will help development and business with ensuring that the business processes around new products and features are handled with good care, as well as documented properly.
During the lifecycle of the product, the Product Analyst should serve as a knowledge bank regarding the products in his/her responsibility, and participate in the daily activities for product development.
The Product Analyst needs to act as a bridge between business and technology by thinking along with both aspects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Analysis of business requirements as part of project preparation, (assist in) analyzing design specifications and identifying the impacted systems
Determination of projects' and product owner's requirements, work towards deadlines, make sure deadlines are kept
Liaising with business representatives (traders, mid, legal, compliance etc.) to understand their needs and find ways to server them better
Liaising with developers, testers, technical writers to help in their daily activates
Analyze the technology in use and identify possible enhancements
Improve processes, automate impact analysis
Identify upcoming obstacles and ways to tackle them

Further responsibilities are to work closely with developers, testers and technical writers to clarify questions during the development process.

Requirements

Skill set

Strong business domain knowledge - ideally with focus on either trading or risk management
Experience with working in project teams either as business analyst or product owner
Demonstrated understanding of different product management methodologies (waterfall and agile)
5+ years’ experience in financial industry
Advantage if worked in trading, investment banking, hedge funds, brokers or exchange sector
Bachelor degree with decent grades is a must

Good technical understanding is required: different back-end technologies, databases, communication protocols but hands-on technical expertise is not a must
