the opportunity

we seek a well-rounded professional to assume the role of senior manager, human resources. the candidate should be self-motivated with a demonstrated record of hands on practical experience in the development and implementation of progressive human capital programs. this position is located at the group headquarters in winnipeg, reports directly to the chief operating officer and is a member of the group senior management team.

key responsibilities

participate as a key member of the group senior management team and provide expertise and support to this team for all human capital requirements.
own, evolve and manage all human capital programs across the company including:
employee engagement process (hiring, transfers, promotions, release, retirement)
employee training and career development programs
employee compensation, benefits, social and communication programs
human resource functional management (resources, policies, procedures, practices, information systems, regulatory compliance)

selection criteria

bachelor’s degree, or equivalent credentials
minimum of 10 years of human resources experience with at least 5 years in a management role in a midsized company with multiple locations
experience in developing or evolving hr programs in support of company business objectives in collaboration with business leaders
experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement programs
experience in applicable regional, provincial and national labour law and regulations in jurisdictions applicable to the company
solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently on focused activities and collaboratively on team initiatives
strong communication skills both written and verbal with high levels of emotional intelligence
