Description

This job is for the role of Senior Procurement Specialist. The candidate qualified for the job is to be part of a multi-disciplined project and commercial team. He or she will focus on the identification, procurement of trade contracts, capital equipment packages and services for the complex consumer projects of the company ranging across the Pharmaceutical and Food sectors.

The qualified candidate would work closely with the Procurement Manager and would be granted the opportunity to lead and manage the engagement, relationship, and procurement processes alongside with the services and capital equipment supply vendors for the project delivery offering of the company. This would require a blend of technical proficiency and competency around practices that are procurement based and relationship building with potential suppliers

Main responsibilities:

- Selecting and prequalifying vendors
- Preparing and issuing invitations to tender
- Reviewing and evaluating ITT in a detailed manner
- Facilitating and chairing the clarification meetings with vendors as required
- Handling and negotiating commercial and contractual issues with the vendors
- Finalising, agreeing, and closing out terms of delivery and payment with vendors
- Preparing reports for tender recommendation, and submitting it for the client's approval
- Preparing and issuing documentations of Contracts and Purchase Orders (POs)
- Expediting the information, services, and equipment of vendors
- Preparing and updating status reports of procurements
- Other responsibilities assigned by the Procurement Manager

Requirements:

- A Degree or any equivalent Certification
- A relevant professional accreditation or qualification is a plus
- Experience and a proven track record in a relatable function of procurement of trade contracts, capital equipment packages and services
- Industrial experience in a specific field such as Pharmaceuticals or Food is a plus. Other industries would also be considered
- An excellent interpersonal and communication skill, and the ability to build relationships quickly with relevant parties
- Flexibility and ability to handle multiple requests ranging from several areas
- Proficient IT skills such as Word, Excel, etc.
- An organised individual, with time management skills and the ability to meet the deadlines of projects
- A high sense of customer focus and ability to work in a team
- A self-starter able to work alone with minimal supervision
