We seek the service of an individual that will serve as the Structural design engineer who will be responsible for the designs, plans and oversee the construction of new buildings, bridges, and other structures. This person will also be primarily concerned with designing structures and buildings that are safe and capable of withstanding elements which they are exposed to. The qualified candidate will report to the department manager and fulfill the role of a technical coordinator within the projects.

Main responsibilities:

The following duties are the main duties that an individual will be expected to carry out. These responsibilities are categorized below:

- Design Process:

• Attending meetings that are dedicated to designing related issues as well as making decisions that are related to design issues.
• Coordinating project manager on technical matters as well as providing design input or advice to either the project manager or the engineer.
• Following up on projects with project consultant engineer and the resident engineer to ensure the quality of the projects done.
• Bringing about technical analysis and structural design assessment to propose optimal solutions to any technical issue.
• Serving as a project value engineering as well as liaising and coordinating with other designers, engineers, and architects for the purpose of producing technically, financially and aesthetically optimized design.
• Ensuring the preparation of structural calculation models in engineering software, design calculations, and technical specifications.
• Working with geotechnical engineers for the purpose of investigating grounds conditions as well as analyzing the result of soil investigation and in situ tests.
• Liaising with construction contractors to ensure the structural soundness of the building structures.

- Collaboration with interfaces:

• Checking and comparing requirements of project contract specifications to bring about identification inconsistencies and ensure clarification with clients.
• Ensuring the liaison and supervision with site engineers to avoid any work conflict that might arise.
• Supervising draftsman for the preparation of shop drawings and other submittals to avoid any form of delay on the site.
• Attending the procurement department's meetings with suppliers and subcontractors to follow up on their activities.

Skills and Experience:

- A graduate in structural engineering or a completed technical qualification (preferably in university) in the field of structural engineering is required.
- At least five years’ experience in structural engineering.
- Relevant professional experience in the field of steel construction.
- Profound visual thinking as well as MS Office and programming skills.
- Excellent knowledge of computer software like STAAD Pro, AutoCad, Rfem, rstad and other design tools.
- Business fluent in the English language as well as an ability to work in a team.
- Independent working style with the willingness to assume responsibility is required.
- Self-motivation, dedication, and solution-orientation are highly required.
