Description

A candidate qualified for the role of Head of Quality is needed to define the Quality vision of their area of business which must be in line with the BT Quality Strategy, Quality Policy, and the overall business objectives. This vision must be deployed be deployed using a compelling, sound, and integrated action plan

The impact of the role is across all areas and functions with a direct impact on their performance measured regarding product reliability, customer satisfaction, and Non-Compliance Cost.

Main responsibilities:

- Building a strong team with the right skilled people, and ensuring that all the Quality processes, methods, and tools are updated for the needs of the business, implemented and followed rigorously
- Having management responsibilities such as strategy, budget, people development and team development, and ensuring that the certifications are correctly managed
- Ensuring that the basics are in place such as quality awareness, processes, methods, tools and people, and continuously driving to improve and challenge the quo of the status
- Creating an atmosphere of quality culture, in the true sense, in which they drive in all functions, and leading by example
- Defining Quality vision and translating it into an action plan
- Implementing Quality Processes, Methods, and Tools, and following it up
- Taking responsibility for managing the quality strategy, budget, and development of team and people
- Managing certifications and the customer and regulatory implications

Is always curious, positive, supportive, non-judgmental with a passion for improving, reliable, trustful, communicative and convincing. Has a strong quality mindset and is action oriented.

Requirements:

- A Degree qualification of any equivalent
- Sound knowledge of the Business
- A good area and nature of Impact, and Problem Solving skills
- Extensive exposure to various disciplines within the business environment, and a strong knowledge of the interaction of the processes and resources with other disciplines and sub-functions
- Contributing towards process and flow improvement such as Value Chain, Supply Chain, Risk Chain, and has an excellent commercial awareness
- Supporting the identification of the causes of deviation for some selected outcomes by using complex techniques in problem solving such as 8D, DMAIC, Knepper-Tregoe, or by developing new techniques and approaches
- Developing actions to improve the performance of processes by using standard Casual Analysis and Resolution tools, and developing new techniques, processes, and workflows which influence policy formation in the future
- Management or technical leadership skills
- A good interpersonal and communication skills

Focusing on the Team Management, to include project managers:

- A strong communication and influencing skill, and the ability to advise, coach, motivate, convince people and lead changes
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in an effective way, at different levels in the organization
- Possessing management responsibilities such as budget, people and team development, and functional strategy, etc. and ensuring that certifications are correctly managed, and it challenges the status quo

Experience and skills:

- A minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in a relevant role
- A minimum of 10 - 15 years’ working experience, preferably in a multinational project environment
- An extensive knowledge of the processes and methods of Quality and Improvement
- A good knowledge of IRIS, ISO and other applicable quality standards which are relevant to the project
- An Excellent knowledge of Quality tools such as problem solving, 8D, FMEA, etc.
- Ability to manage a department with all its associated responsibilities including budget, people, etc.
- Ability to influence the management team expertly, and with a quality mindset
- Customer and results oriented
- A strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide, advise, influence, coach, motivate and convince others and lead changes
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in an effective way at different levels of the organization
- Ability to take responsibility for the growth and development of direct reports such as performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other actions of personnel
- An excellent leadership skill in management of change, and managerial courage
- Ability to adapt plans and priorities to address challenges in resource and operation
- Ability to directly manage one or more directly affiliated teams of professionals, managers, supervisors and all associated cross-functional Quality related resources

- Technical skills ranging from A-E (lowest to highest level)
- An APQP Deployment
- Conformity, NCR, and NCC Management
- Ability to manage Business Processes and assessment, and audits
- Chinese is your mother tongue, with fluency in English and the ability to communicate in
French and German at an intermediate level
